im really excited..i cant even beleive that we have all these trips planned- its insane. im just waiting for it all to sink it- which it hasent yet.
the only thing is, now im totally indebted to my parents for life. i guess ill just live at home until im 72 and do chores to pay them back... ill be vacuuming and mowing the grass until i am no longer physically able to. haha.
i have to write a paper now- its friday..how sad/pathetic. if only i didnt have a 7am date with the ferry for our fieldtrip.... joy.
tomorrow nite is the girl in the room next to us' 20th birthday...so many birthdays here i cant even keep up..i think half of these people are faking it just so they can have a birthday party.

hiiii everyone who happens to be reading this!! its tuesday afternoon here in australia- everyone is in class and i just happened to be sitting on the verandah painting my nails and listening to music, and thought i would write another little blog-ster.
its really nice here today, probably like 70 something, so me and 2 girls in my building went to the beach and hung out, dug some holes to china, worked on our tans......every tuesday nite me and jen and this british guy tim go and get nachos, but its this other girls birthday today so i think a group of us are gonna go out to dinner in a few hours. i should shower before that occurs.
...a shower will not help my fat lip though- i have a fat lip, its a long story but my teeth are still in my head- i just have a swollen lip. but anyways...
sometimes i dont know what to write because everything sounds so boring! but i swear i am going out and doing stuff- i just dont really think that everyday stuff would be very interesting to read, not that this is interesting in any sense. haha.
ohhh heres a good story---
this guy in our dorm has a fake play phone thing where if you push any of the buttons, it will shock you. so last nite we went out with some girls in the other dorm (they live in boston--and go to sacred heart---roadtrips! erin nollen we love boston) but we were out and we were just making conversation with these guys about travelling around australia, and we were talking about margaret river, and turns out one of them lives there- so gillian was like, ok lets get each others numbers----and it barely crossed my mind that i had the fake shocking phone in my purse, but i handed it to him, and needless to say--after he was shocked and his friends were done laughing---he said "you american girls think you are so funny."
i thought it was hilarious. but i thought that was a good story. hahahah.
gillians mom is coming to visit in october...so we have lots of trips planned for that. were going snorkeling one day, margaret river to wineries and the beach and stuff for a few days..things like that.taking her around---
i am really looking forward to the travelling gillian and i are doing when we are done the semester...our plans- i dont know if i posted this already, obviously i am really excited:) but we are doing...i really think i posted this already so you can just skip this part---
sydney, brisbane, gold coast, great barrier reef, and then fiji.
in about 3 weeks for our australian history class we fly up north to broome and camp and stay with aboriginals and camp and do the whole australian bush thing for a week. should be fun, apparently we cant take showers, which is fine, because i hate showers anyways. and i think we have to hunt our own food or something? ill just be really smelly and thin when we get back.
i cant wait till the weather becomes more regulated and i can wear a bathing suit to class and then just go to the beach- its such a good thing i chose smelly philly to go to school; if i were at a college anywhere near the beach id be in trouble.
this saturday for my coastal and marine systems class (the one with the 50 page paper) we are going to rottnest island, you take a ferry there and stuff..we are going for the day to conduct research for this paper we have to do eventually. my group is researching sediment distribution and the affect of direction ( like north south those things) on the formation of the beach ...and tide and sea and swell and all those things i still dont understand. but we get to rent bikes and just ride around the island all day. barb and dave went- they have pictures up, i think there are like 50+ beaches around the island....
besides that class i have australian history (really interesting), history of the church (my prof is a silly old man) and geography---i have this teacher who is apparently an amazing cross country runner and he had the chance to be on the australian olympic team..but i dunno..he has a rat tail, maybe it slowed him down when he was running. very likely. as aub would say, he had some mullet action power going on. a combo between a mullet and a rat tail...hot.
weve made some really good friends in the other buildings, people from notre dame in the us...there are 3 dorms of international students...
im so lucky im here. its such an amazing experiance..im so so so glad i decided to do this. hugeee huge huge thank you to my parents for letting this even be a possibility- i wouldnt change anything about my current life situation. besides missing everyone from home, im a very content little cookie.
:)

and theeen today we got up and went into perth and went to the zoo...and that was fun we saw animals. duh i guess it was a zoo...and then we rode the train and stuff and came back to freo and then went grocery shopping and to liquor land and then we napped and then we made dinner and now we are getting ready to go out---were gonna go to come clubs/bars downtown with some girls....its totally okay because the drinking age is 18. BUUUUT me and gill booked our 4 star hotel in fiji and i found out the drinking age is 21..
boo....is it a crime to change the birthdate on passports? kidddding! totally joke.
but...mom you really need to send more movies. that would be great.

thats really all the news i have...theres a formal coming up in 2 weeks- we have these vip tickets- haha...so that will be fun.
school took over this past week and i totally didnt like it--
but i miss everyone and hopefully i will have more interesting stuff to post next time.

A is for Australia
so instead of setting up skype dates with all you silly americans i left back in the u s of a, ive decided to take a page out of some fellow campbells books and set up a little blogfest.
i can not guarante that words will be spelt right, or that anything i write will be funny or even remotely interesting........and i do not plan on using capital letters, punctuation, or anything of that nature...
with that said...
ive now been in australia for over a month....gillian and i got here on friday, july 18th...tomorrow is september 1st. it is INSANE to think that much time has gone by....tomorrow starts the 6th week of classes, but since im attempting to take the lightest work load known to man, i only have class wednesday, thursday and friday...and two of those three days i am done at 12:30- just perfect timing to bake in the australian sun. its apparently hotter here because the ozone layer doesnt exist here..im not sure about that part, but im looking forward to wasting my days away in the sand....
the weather isnt too bad, we wear shoes and flipflops now...weve been to the beach too...its only a block away from our dorm..and by dorm i mean a old hotel that the school bought. international students are the only ones who live on "campus" ...its not really a campus, its just school buildings mixed in with cafes, restaurants, some other building things. i dunno, im never really looking at the buildings when i walk..i am either scoping out my nearest surroundings for hot aussy soulmates or avoiding getting hit by cars..they come out of no where and from all sorts of crazy directions.
originally i had a ticket to come home when classes were done, november 22. but then gillian, my roomate from cabrini (we came together and are getting along greaaat) but anyways, we had tickets to fly home...
we decided to extend our trip a little..so now we are going to sydney, brisbane (where we are picking up our rental car---its a convertible) and then from there we are driving to the gold coast, then back brisbane, then hopping on a plane to go to the GREAT BARRIER REEF..and then were gonna hop on another plane and fly to fiji for a week to bake in some more hot tropical sun...and then i guess ill come home.
last nite was a guy in the programs 21st birthday..we rented a party bus which turned out to be some bus with some strobe lights in it..but needless to say, someone could have easily thought it was my birthday due to my behavior..but anyways, i have a headache and blogging isnt really doing it for me. i guess blogging is a verb? i feel like such a computer nerd.
life in australia is the best thing ever.....i miss haku though...i am going to try and find a place to rent a pet or something.
goodnite.
